머신 비전에 적합한 dichroic 필터는 일반적으로 색 분리와 대비 상승용도로 사용됩니다. 마운팅이 안된 상태로 제공되며 다양한 카메라와 조명 셋업에 추가 설치가 쉽게 가능합니다. 추가적으로 dichroic 필터는 narrow bandpass interference 필터로 얻을 수 없는 넓은 시야를 제공합니다. Pre-loaded filter wheel은 완성된 세트 입니다.

일반적인 구성은 photo enlarger, beam seperation을 포함하고 격리시키려는 색상을 선택 후 이미징 렌즈 앞에 필터를 놓게 됩니다. 광원이 이미 유색이라면(예, red LED) 필요없는 주변 빛을 제거하는데 사용될 수 있습니다.
