“Roof prisms” 또는 “right angle roof prisms”로도 불리는 Amici prisms는 이미지를 역전 및 반전시킬 뿐만 아니라 시야선(line of sight)을 90° 각도로 굴절시킵니다. 이 프리즘은 시선의 방향을 정확하게 유지하기 위해 대물렌즈의 반전된 이미지를 우측으로 회전시키고 이를 90° 각도로 굴절시켜야 하는 광학 기기 및 spotting scope에 이상적으로 사용할 수 있습니다. 선형 편광 입사광을 이용하면 비코팅된 Amici prism을 출사하는 빛이 타원형 편광 두 개가 혼합된 상태가 되어 일부 어플리케이션에서 콘트라스트와 해상도의 감소를 유발하게 됩니다. 실버 코팅된 Amici roof prism은 이러한 문제들을 제거해줍니다.
